FLL 2015-2016

UPTON QUALIFIER

November 21, 2015

We participated in the Upton qualifier as a “practice team.”  While we didn’t think we were quite ready, we turned in the top score in the robot game and did well in the judging sessions.  We were fortunate to receive a judges award for our efforts.

WORCESTER QUALIFIER

December 5, 2015

First time we’ve ever received the “Champion’s Award”.  Glad we could deliver when it really counted.  We did so well in Upton as a practice team and we weren’t sure lightning could strike twice.  We also won the Last Robot Standing award for the second time!  While we did great in the robot game, people really seemed to like our project idea, TrashIQ.  TrashIQ is a human and machine readable labeling system that can be used to identify materials for recycling at the point of disposal and in the single stream recovery process.  We have an Android app that shows how the idea can be used.  Try it at:  https://goo.gl/PZTqrv.  It’s back to WPI on the 19th for the State Championship!

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

December 19, 2015

Another great showing at the State Championship, held at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). We won the First Place Programming Award and came in Second in the Alliance/Lightning Round.
